White Rappers "HipHop Music" & J. Cole Controversy
[HipHop Dx]:J Rag™ is a white HipHop Recording Artist who came onto the Music Scene in the late 90's, early 2000's & with the Social Media building hype around the J.Cole Song "Firing Squad" where he makes comment to White Rappers, HipHop, and more specifically Eminem.. And the Talent in question of the White Artists doing "Black-Music"... and this is what he had to say.......
"Social Media is taking the J.Cole Lyrics to this Verse a little bit out of context, and making it into something that it's really not... J.Cole is very talented and you can't take that away from him. At this point I just think that it shouldn't be White Music, Black Music, it's just creativity, an Art Form, Talent, and making Good Music. Its the same as flipping it and saying Black Artists shouldn't do Rock, Pop, Country. It just sounds Stupid. And with the timing of the Racial Tension caused through these Trial Decisions, It is just making more emphasis on it and it's being turned into something it's not....
With that said....I am just gonna touch on what was said in the full article.... You may have to open it and read it, to know why I am saying what I am saying.... Eminem still makes great music. J.Cole makes great Music. And those who disagree or argue... just aren't listening... Everyone of Em's Albums has Great Song after great song... Word play, Bars, Music, Lyrics, Delivery, Flow, Content, Etc.... Eminem is arguably one of the greatest on the mic and to make songs. Ever. You dont have to dance to the shit for a song or album to be great!! Thats the double sided edge on this blade. In one breathe comments like that are made.... then the next, the lack of great music, lyrics, depth, quality, and content is due to everyone trying to make a club or dance song instead of making great music with substance.... I usually stand clear of weighing in on these opinion driven conversations.... I agree Iggy and Macklemore are not good enough to be praised as they are.... but Eminem is on a whole other level... and making that judgement again, profiling is what we should be steering away from. On another note... J Cole was never dissing anyone, he just reiterated on what has been touched on before by others and making a concious opinion. And the song is dope.
